The Holt Newsletter Spring 2010.
With the New Year up to full steam, we look forward to Spring with fresh and exciting ideas.
Christmas was a fantastic month with brisk trade and customers full of festive cheer and optimism for the year ahead. Our Smoking Jacket Foods gift bags flew out of the door and we were smoking around the clock just to keep up! We have an ever growing fan base for our bacon curing kits - a tried and tested method for making your own exceptional bacon at home. On the final few days before Christmas our music festival received an amazing response, we really are lucky to have such talented bands and solo musicians in our Pub.
New Year’s Eve was celebrated with a 10 course taster menu that saw the kitchen pushing their culinary skills with new and inspired creations in an effort to make gourmands of us all. A fantastic success, with lots of requests for more events.
In the kitchen we are glad to have Head Chef Josh McDonald Johnson with us who is continuing our ethos of simply prepared local ingredients. The next taster menu will be in early June and we’ll post the menu up a little nearer the time.
On the week of May 18th-22nd we will be celebrating our fifth anniversary at The Holt with another Music Festival. Bands will include The Philip Clouts trio (jazz), Penelope Wigglesworth (soulful songstress), Papa Legal (fun loving tunes), Long Tomb (dynamic rock three piece) and Yes Sir Boss (Not to be missed). This is another chance to sample the ever popular full range of Otter Beers and enjoy plenty of live music.
